This Art Deco rug was handwoven in Tientsin, China during the second quarter of the 20th century.  This Deco rug features a central dragon surrounded by additional dragons in each of it's four corners all atop an open golden yellow ground framed by a thick unadorned navy border. The composition is composed of various weeping willows and floral bouquets in a pleasing palette of blues, reds and pinks on a pale yellow ground. This patterning is uncharacteristic of Sarouk weaving and more commonly associated with Kashan. Nicely framed by a distinctive red and yellow dual ground interlock border.

This Tabriz rug was handwoven during the early 20th century. It features an all-over design of penguin-like botehs waddling row by row in alternating directions. The botehs shift slightly in proportion and placement giving the composition a wavy feel. Adding to the funky feel and nature of the rug the weaving style begins to change near the top from a crisper weave to a looser one while the colors used slowly begin to shift as the new weaver presumably began to run out of the original yarn.

It features three powerful leshgi stars on an earthy red ground full of various rosettes and protection symbols.  Encapsulated by multiple individualized borders including rosettes, sunbursts, and calyx and serrated leaves. A very handsome palette of blues, reds, greens and aubergine is accentuated by glowing coral and orange among other tones.

This Baluch rug was handwoven during the early 20th century in Afghanistan. It features two octagonal Turkmen guls on a red ground and framed by a border of hourglass and cruciform shapes. Rich saturated tones and nice interplay between light and dark. It has original kilim ends on top and bottom that are each embellished with their own weft float pattern. This balisht has it's original kilim back still intact and which employs thick stripes of red, orange, brown and ivory.

Overshot American Coverlet a grid of squares that utilize red and green wefts over an exposed white warp to create various patterns including stripes, diamonds and snowflakes. The grid is surrounded by a border of thin patterning on three sides. The top unbordered section is seamed with cloth indicating the original coverlet was likely longer.The addition of borders showcase the weaver's proficiency and skill. Fine weaving and wonderful contrast give this a crisp feel and eye dazzling visual effect.
