The small pictorial rug was handwoven in Kashan during the 20th century.
A very unique piece it features a cat with brown, white and gray fur and striking blue eyes. The cat's head floats above a flat ground and surrounded by blossoming flowers on all four sides.. It was woven in 'souf' style with the pile utilizing wool and the flat backdrop utilizing silver-wrapped thread further magnifying the opulence of the piece.
In very good condition, with little to no wear.
