This Rölakan kilim was handwoven in Sweden during the middle of the 20th century.
It features a geometric design of stacked triangles that is broken up by two striped columns. This seemingly simple design can be read multiple ways. The soft palette of light and dark blues, ivory and copper softens the composition. The initials "IS" for textile artist Ingegerd Silow can be found in the bottom right corner.
In very good condition for its age with some light areas of staining. Wefted with wool over a linen warp. Flat pile with a hefty handle.
