A central medallion is composed of a coin motif surrounded by scrolling vines in black, blue, and white. The same scrolled vines can be seen in each cornice of the otherwise unadorned field. This Karabagh runner was woven in the south Caucasus by Armenians during the late 19th century. It features an all over herati design pattern in blues, greens, reds, pinks, yellow and ivory on a chocolate ground. The ground has oxidized adding dimensionality to the piece. Framed by a inner laleh abbasi border and three outer borders of scrolling rosettes on exceptional blue and yellow grounds.

Beshir Turkmen rug handwoven along the Amu Darya river in Central Asia. It features one large central medallion and four smaller medallions on the top and bottom of this wide and narrow format which is common for type. The medallions sit at an all over design of an abstracted herati variation with wide leaves, rounded rosettes and arrow like forms. various borders of tulips, evil eyes and eight pointed rosettes.
