This Serab runner was woven during the first quarter of the 20th century.
It features an allover lattice design of flowering shrubs in reds, blues, yellow, blue and aubergine on a dark brown ground. Uncommonly and to great effect a narrow red ground border of vibrant polychrome rosettes is sandwiched between two wider matching borders of simple blossoming flowers on a soft camel ground. The undulation and openness of the camel ground highlights the natural brown wool these rugs are famed for and gives the composition an open and grand feel.
In very good condition, with very little wear. Full pile with some heft, a good option for a high traffic area.
