This kilim was woven in central Anatolia during the middle of the 20th century.
This large kilim features a simple yet striking composition. The kilim is borderless and broken into five horizontal sections separated by thin blue and tan stripes on a dramatic dark raspberry field. The top and bottom sections are composed of matching cartouche like devices in chartruese, tan and periwinkle. The inner panels feature three graphic hooked medallions; the central periwinkle medallion flanked by two darker black medallions. A visually impactful rug magnified by the combination of size, scale and the tones used.
In very good condition; all edges intact with no holes. Flatwoven of wool on wool foundation with a sturdy handle.
