This rug was handwoven by Kurds during the first quarter of the quarter of the 20th century.    It features a traditional Kurdish design of diagonal stripes in a rainbow of pastel tones. The seemingly random color placement along wiht the varying thickness and movement of the stripes imbibe the rug with life and movement. Framed by a main border of stepped polygons and triangles on a coral ground with ends that are beautifully embellished with multiple barber pole weft floats.

In good condition with some areas of wear and fraying near both ends. In original as-found condition other than a professional cleaning.
