This kilim was woven in central Anatolia during the middle of the 20th century.
This wonderful kilim features energetic tones of hot pink, bright orange, purple, blue, yellow green, and red that really pop against the black ground. Of particular interest are the inclusions of the names "Cicek", "Semiye", "Ummiye" and the date "1963" woven into the field. It is likely this kilim was woven for domestic use and not for sale. The long fringes that alternate between handspun wool and braided cotton. A previous owner or maybe even the weaver themselves has woven loops along one side for hanging.
In very good condition; minor fringe loss in some areas. Flatwoven with a sturdy handle.
