This Bokhara was woven in Pakistan during the 1980s.  With an uncommon design for Bokhara rugs it for Bokhara features a classic Ensi design and a lovely skirt border on one end all on a desirable and uncommon black ground. Ensi rugs were woven by Turkmen tribes and traditionally used as a door cover or entrance to a yurt. Their is a belief among seasoned Turkmen collectors that the intention of this pattern was to represent a door or window to the afterlife.
