This Deco runner was handwoven in Tietsin, China during the second quarter of the 20th century.
It features a striking contrast of a purple ground encapsulated by a canary yellow border. Various flora and fauna including birds, butterflies and a small flowering tree pay no mind to the barrier between border and field giving this piece a feeling that is free and unrestrained. The bottom left corner features a tea kettle and tea cup next to flowers in a pot. In a hard-to-find runner format.
In very good condition, with some wear where the pile is worn. Low pile, very thickly woven, with a thick and heavy handle.
