Vintage blockprinted batik from Java, Indonesia.
This textile is most probably a skirtcloth or hipcloth, a garment that is typically worn by women.
This particular skirtcloth features a lovely floral design in reds, blues, and whites, on a deep indigo blue ground with white polka dots. Bird motifs are included along the bottom of the flower design.
In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Has some sun fading along old fold lines, but it's not particularly noticeable. 100% cotton with a light and airy handle.
