This runner was by Tibetan weavers in Nepal during the late 20th century.
It features a fun a whimsical village scene more reminiscent of a folk painting than a rug. For this collection, the weavers used natural dyed wool and free reign to create an expression of village living. Vibrant scenes featuring people, animals, homes, and agricultural production play out in jewel-toned blues and greens atop earthy ochres.
