This Tabriz was woven during the early 20th century.
It features a central medallion with multiple iterations of the Herati pattern that maintains the same scale but subtly changes color combination to a great visual effect. The repeat Herati emanates in different waves from a dark brown center to soft-toned grounds of ivory, teal, and burnt orange. Four cornices work in the opposing direction and reflect color the exchange found in the center. The main border is on a burnt orange ground and composed of palmettes which alternate with rosette flanked by two serrated leaves.
In very good condition with some wear to the face (as pictured) but structurally sound. All four sides are intact and reinforced with no major restoration for its considerable age.
