This vintage Kashan rug was woven during the late 20th century.
It features a scene of the architectural and natural beauty found in the city of Kashan that has been flipped over and reflected in perfect quadrilateral symmetry. It may be depicting Fin Garden - the oldest surviving garden in the region. Illustrated with calming blues, greens, and yellows with red outlining on a cream ground. Fun and unexpected, the rendering has a fantastical mirage-like feel.
This rug is in perfect condition, with no signs of wear. The pile is low and densely woven, with the original fringe ends still intact.
