This Rolakan kilim was handwoven at Klockargårdens Hemslöjd in Sweden during the middle of the 20th century.
It features a minimalistic geometric design woven with. an architectural feel. The palette of black, white, gray, olive, and periwinkle is enhanced with marled yarn which softens the composition while giving it depth. Braided fringe at both ends complete the rug. Two sets of initials can be found "MG" on the bottom left and "KH" on the bottom right. The "MG" references textile artist Martha Gahn (1881 – 1973) and "KH" references the workshop Klockargårdens Hemslöjd.
In very good condition for its age. Wefted with wool over a linen warp. Flat pile with a hefty handle.
