This Deco rug was handwoven in Tietsin, China during the second quarter of the 20th century.
This stately deco features a navy ground with a calm mauve border. The design of blossoming branches and potted plants is whimsical and not restrained by the border. A single lantern hangs near the center of the rendering.
In good condition, with areas of wear along edges and in the field (as pictured). The pile is low and densely woven, with a sturdy handle. A very hardwearing rug.
