This Blouse was crafted in Afghanistan by the Hazara during the 20th century.
The Hazara are a distinct and often persecuted ethnic group that primarily live in Central Afghanistan and comprise a majority of the country's Shi'ite population. This blouse was embroidered in vibrant red, pink, purple, green and yellow silk on cotton. This embroidery style and design lexicon are classic Hazara production that can also be seen in well-known torba cloths.
