This Malayer runner was handwoven during the early 20th century.
This stunning runner features rows of botehs marching to and fro on a navy field. It is framed by a well-spaced main border of roses blooming on a meandering vine against a bright ivory ground. The main border is flanked by matching minor borders that alternate between "s" filled cartouches and diamonds on a powder blue ground. Well-balanced accents of red, coral, yellow and green add interest to the piece.
In very good condition with minimal wear for age. The pile is low but full, with a hefty handle.
