This Oushak was handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century in Western Anatolia.
Oushak rugs of this period were often woven with angora wool, making them exceptionally soft and lustrous. This particular rug is no exception and utilizes angora wool to render an allover medallion design on a soft orange field. Light blues, ivories, and browns create a soft but striking composition.
In good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Pile is low, handle is soft and loose. A wonderfully warm rug, perfect for a casually elegant space.
