Malayer rug with ornate floral design in reds, blues, and browns

Antique Malayer Rug - 4'3 x 6'10

Regular price $1,535.00 Sale

This Malayer rug was handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century in Western Iran.

This stunning rug features an ornate central medallion and cornices on herati patterned field. The design is primarily rendered in blues, red, ivory and brown but a variety of accents in soft yellow, purple, green and an impactful orange add nice depth. Three prominent borders are composed of distintive floral meanders, from geometric to naturalistic.

In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Pile is low, with a hefty handle. Original kilim end is intact.
