This Yei rug was handwoven by Navajo weavers in Shiprock New Mexico during the second quarter of the 20th century.
The design is composed of three figures in a row, surrounded by a Rainbow Guardian on three sides. The female figures are each woven with distinctly colored outfits and separated by teal cornstalks. Bright pinks, yellows, and browns complete this cheery color palette. Two thin black and white borders frame this ceremonial-themed design.
In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Flatwoven, with a sturdy but soft handle.
