This Turkmen chuval was handwoven in the Middle Amu Darya region of Central Asia during the early 20th Century.
This trapping features a design of six large main güls on a madder red field full of more skeletal secondary guls and eight pointed stars. Framed by main border on the same color ground containing diamond motifs on the vertical borders and blossoming tulips along the horizontal borders.
In good condition, with a medium pile with dense floppy pile. Various areas of old repairs (as pictured)
