This Kazak rug was handwoven in the southern Caucasus during the early Century.
It features large latch-hooked medallions on a rare yellow ground that is full of various randomly placed rosettes and star-filled octagons. Framed by a classic leaf and calyx main border and minor borders of polychrome rosettes.
In good condition, with professional conservation to reinforce the structure completed overseas to conserve the rug while maintaining its well deserved patina. The pile is low, with a soft handle.
