This quilt was handmade and of recycled materials in North America at the end of the 19th century.
It features a grid of colorful squares stuffed with padding and scrunched together creating a very fluffy appearance. The squares are made of a variety of fabrics, some plain and others with simple patterns. It is backed in silk that is embellished with silk embroidered flowers. A very unique and interesting piece.
In very good condition, some of the square fabric have rips. Backed with embroidered silk. Has a little heft due to the padding but still quite an airy handle.
