The textile was crafted by the Lakai people in Northern Afghanistan during the middle of the 20th century.
It features a variety of fabric squares patchworked into the shape of a traditional Uzbek door hanging. Some squares are plain fabric and others are recycled ikat and even appliquéd felt. The backing is an old Russian roller print. A nice example of recycling and reuse.
In good condition. Holes and tears in the fabric, missing fringe, some staining
