This small soumak was woven by Uzbeks in Northern Afghanistan during the 20th century.
This rug is tiny but vibrant and is composed of a colorful geometric design of interlocking diamonds that almost appear as two figures standing side by side. Framed by various borders of squares, "s"s, zigzags, and arrows.
In good condition, some stiff, stained, and repaired areas. Wear at the corner edge.
