This Heriz rug features a classic Heriz patterning with a strong geometric central medallion on a madder red ground. The four cornices mirror the design from the medallion in a different color combination. The main border is composed of an alternating rosette and serrated leaf pattern, while the minor borders feature floral meanders. It is woven with the coarseness and feel of 20th century Heriz rugs, but a palette more associated with earlier Serapi rugs.
