This Heriz rug was handwoven during the early 20th century.
This classic Heriz features a geometric central medallion and rich saturated tones. A red field is complemented by deep navy, various blues and greens as well yellow, coral adn ivory. Wonderful tones throughout but the icy blue, indigo, chartreuse and jade really sparkle. It is framed by a navy main border of polychrome palmettes. Some of the end borders are missing but reinforced giving the rug more squarish dimensions than usual.
In very good condition with minimal wear for its considerable age. Light professional restoration has been done and ends have been reinforced for longevity.
