This Farahan rug was woven during the second quarter of the 20th century.

It features an allover "Zili Sultan" design on a rare ivory ground.  The Zili Sultan desgin refers to an allover design of flower-filled vases sometimes also incorporating birds as is the case here. With a main border The main border of concentric latch hook motifs framed by wonderful minor borders of budding roses.

In very good condition. The pile is low and very densely woven, with a stiff handle. Wool is soft and lustrous.
