This gorgeous mid-century rya shag rug was handwoven in Sweden.
This rug was designed by Ingrid Sterling for the Marks rya company in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1969. It features a geometric design in black, white, and grey. Overall it has an abstract grid-like design, filled with asymmetric rectangles, ovals, and squares. The geometric design mixed with the long shaggy pile gives a very modern feel.
Wear is consistent with age. Pile is shaggy, the handle is heavy but soft.
