This double saddlebag or Khorjin was woven in Afghanistan during the third quarter of the 20th century.
The bag face is a low and dense pile with a flatwoven back in a purple and yellow diamond pattern. The closure is composed of red and blue slit tapestry with braided loops. The bagface features a red, white, and brown geometric design, with a border featuring animals and stars. Multicolor fringe is on the tops and bottoms of both bag faces, with tassels along the sides. A truly whimsical piece.
