This kilim was woven by the Qashqa'i people during the second quarter of the 20th century.
It features rows of diagonal diamonds on a powerful undulating red ground. The field is surrounded by a wide inner border with thinner diamonds on the sides and alternating triangles on the ends against a desirable and enchanting green ground. The whole is framed by a tightly rendered but somewhat erratic laleh abbasi border and finished with puzzle-piece banded skirt borders. The edges are finished with candy cane selvedges in orange and blue with the occasional poof of yarn added as embellishment.
In very good condition for its age with all four sides intact.
