This Pre-Columbian textile fragment dates from the Chimu period.
It features two sections of a mantel with squares featuring birdlike figures in red, yellow, brown and ivory. The slit-tapestry woven squares are separated by bands of simply patterned weft float.
The textile is in very good condition for its significant age. The shallow shadow box frame has a couple small nicks (as pictured)
