This Ningxia rug was handwoven in China during the first quarter of the 20th century.

The main design is composed of various porcelain vases filled with fruit and plants such as cherry blossoms on wooden stands.This red tone is very auspicious and often associated with prosperity. It is framed by a thin blue border that forms an endless knot symbol at each corner.

This Ningxia rug was handwoven in China during the first quarter of the 20th century. 

The main design is composed of various porcelain vases filled with fruit and plants such as cherry blossoms on wooden stands. This red tone is very auspicious and often associated with prosperity.  It is framed by a thin blue border that forms an endless knot symbol at each corner. 

In very good condition with both end borders rewoven sometime in it's past. A thick pile with a soft and airy handle. Some parts of the composition have been painted over with red ink which was a common practice during the 1920s.
