This Khamseh rug was handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century.
It features a central of four latch-hooked diamonds on field chock full of flora and fauna in varying shades of indigo blue and tonalities of white. Various geometric shapes and symbols, signifying birds, trees, and other protection symbols fill in the space of the field. The inner border is composed of geometric shapes and figures including a variety of birds on bright and vibrant ground. The main border is composed of scrolling flowering vines on a more subdued copper ground.
In very good condition. Pile is low, with a soft handle.
