This rifle sleeve was handwoven during the third quarter of the 20th century.
It was woven in soumak construction and features a variety of symbols and animals including fish, birds, deer, and paisleys. Prominently featured is a lion holding a saber, the classic national symbol. Following the revolution this symbol was replaced on the national flag. This is sometimes called a tofang dan and was purposely woven to hold a rifle.
In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age.
