This Swedish carriage cushion was woven during the late 19th century likely in the Skane province of southern Sweden.
It features a central red eight-pointed star in a green polygon which perfectly connects to two purple blocks on the top and bottom. Throughout the composition, there are various depictions of women and birds. These weavings are called "Agedyna" in Swedish which means "traveling cushion" and they were intended to be used in a carriage primarily but also in the home.
In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Flatwoven of wool on a linen foundation.
