This Deco rug was handwoven in Eastern China during the second quarter of the 20th century.
It features an open indigo field framed by a wide navy border. Flowering vases and branches that start in the border grow freely into the field unrestrained. A flower-filled vase with a bird perched on one of its branches can be found near the center of the composition. Various birds and butterflies can also be seen frolicking amongst the flowers
In very good condition with visible wear (as pictured). Dense pile with a heavy but smooth handle.
