This little Turkmen rug handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century in Central Asia.
It is composed of eight guls arranged on a grid, woven in blues, reds, and beige, atop a magenta field. Multiple borders of varying widths frame the central design, and are composed of chevrons and diamonds. The top end of the rug still has it's original kilim end, while the bottom half has lost it.
In good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Low pile, with a soft handle.
