This kilim was handwoven in Eastern China around 2010 for textile designer Aelfie.
This is a first edition Aelfie rug which features an experimental design which was produced in very limited quantites. The design is of abstracted black "Kufic" script on a white background which reads "Seek knowledge as far as China". The simple yet elegant design has a maze like quality and can be alternatively read with the black as the background tone.
In excellent condition, flatwoven with a floppy handle.
