This rug was woven by Sanjabi Kurds during the 19th century.
It features a field of graphic hexagons filled with stylized protection symbols in handsome tones of blues, reds, aubergine and ivory on a deep navy ground. Each pair of hexagons is neatly separated by bands of geometric shapes. Well executed patterning that is very refined for type. Each of the three borders accentuate and balance the tones in the composition. Of particular not is the main ivory ground border which adds just the right amount of brightness.
Very good condition with very minimal wear mostly along the selvedges.
