This Baluch sofreh was handwoven during the late 19th century in Afghanistan.

It features an open red abrashed field with a navy sawtoothed perimeter. It is finished on top and bottom with multiple bands of various "S" shape motifs which are rendered with a weft float technique. Given the size and the patterning, it was likely intended as a sofreh and used as such given the old repairs to the center.

In very good condition, with several small repair around the central field. Flatwoven with a loose handle.
