This Baluch kilim was handwoven during the 19th century in Afghanistan.
It is composed of various bands of graphic and well-contrasted geometric patterns that utilize a simple but effective palette which is reflective of classic Baluch aesthetics. The bands alternate between plain kilim weave and a carefully executed weft float technique that lends texture and depth to the piece enhancing its visual interest.
