Ningxia Rug circa 1800 composed of a central mandala flanked by four smaller medallions over an intricate diamond lattice repeat. With a classic Ningxia palette that includes two shades of blue, brown, ivory, mauve and a desirable imperial yellow ground. The main border design features floral motifs on a mauve ground. The inner minor borders features a Greek key motif and the outer perimeter border features bands of both blue tones.

This Ningxia rug was handwoven in China during the early 19th century. 

The main design is composed of a central mandala flanked by four smaller medallions over an intricate diamond lattice repeat. With a classic Ningxia palette that includes two shades of blue, brown, ivory, mauve and a desirable imperial yellow ground. The main border design features floral motifs on a mauve ground. In fair condition with lots of wear and oxidation. Partially backed with an indigo-dyed cloth. Pile is low and soft, with an airy handle.
