This saddle blanket was woven in Tibet at the turn of the 20th century.  This rugs are known as a Makden and were intended to be used under a horse saddle in Tibet. This piece has been rendered in a beautiful butterfly format. It features two mirror image halves with floral forms growing out of stylized rocks on a vibrant orange ground.

In Good condition. Some tears to the connecting and perimeter fabric.
