Central Anatolian Rug with cochineal dye

Central Anatolian Rug - 4'10 x 7'8

Regular price $1,450.00 Sale

Turkish rug woven in Central Anatolia during the second quarter of the 20th Century.

This rug features an intricate medallion with four bouquets as cornices surrounded by an unrestrained geometric border of branches and serrated leaves. The whole is framed by a thin and simple variation of the running dog border. It has a minimal but effective color palette of scarlet reds and pinks derived from lac or cochineal dyes which feels as though it is painted on the lush and elegant beige canvas of undyed wool.

In excellent condition as pictured.
