This Kars rug was woven in Eastern Anatolia during the second quarter of the 20th century.

It features a scalloped central medallion with a dainty floral center surrounded by pink scrolls on camel ground. The same delicate flower featured in the medallion appears in each cornice. The field features a lovely brown which undulates wildly from light to dark brown which gives a subtle but pulsating energy. The word "BEHREM" which may be the weaver's name has been woven into the bottom right quadrant. The whole is framed by an abstracted floral motif.
