This Kazak rug was handwoven in the southern caucasus during the late 19th Century.

A striking field design features three medallions each with a concentric hook motif in red, blue, yellow and dark brown on an ivory ground. The main border is composed of a large alternating scarabs in red, blue and yellow. A well composed and visually arresting example of caucasian weaving.

In excellent condition, with no signs of wear. Pile is flat, with a soft handle.
