Chinese Deco Runner - 2'6x11'5

Regular price $950.00 Sale

Chinese Deco runner handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century.

Featuring a wine-purple field, with a central design of trees and structures, interspersed with birds and clouds. The trees are a mix of weeping willows, almond trees, and hybrids featuring various blossoms, such as almond blossoms, peach blossoms, peonies, and orchids, which we find in the floral meander of the border. Beyond the wine-purple of the field, the color palette is composed of raspberry pinks, golden browns, light and dark shades of indigo blue, and bright purple.

It must be noted that it is fairly unusual to find Deco rugs in this size and shape, as they usually were produced in larger 9x12 sizes.

In good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Some wear at the top where the pile is worn. Low pile, very thickly woven, with a thick and heavy handle.
