Antique Bidjar Rug - 6' x 11'

Antique Bidjar Rug - 6' x 11'

Regular price $2,750.00 Sale

This Bidjar was handwoven during the late 19th Century (1875-1900) in Northwest Iran.

It features an all over herati patterned field in blues, reds, coral and gold on a midnight blue backdrop. This bidjar lives up to it's reputation as the "Iron Rug of Persia" with dense tightly packed construction which makes for a heavy and hard wearing rug. The sparkling main border is composed of yellow and icy blue palmettes on a lacquer red ground which is flanked by minor borders of green and red rinceau on bright white.

In good condition. Pile is low and dense with a sturdy handle.
